 ECKERLE, RAYMOND M.

Raymond M. Eckerle of Tarrytown died suddenly Feb. 16, 2012, he was 56. He was born Dec. 17, 1955 in the Bronx to Alfred Eckerle & Angelina Rufo. Raymond worked in Client Sales for Staples Corporate in Manhattan. He is survived by his domestic partner Mary Ann Cahill and her daughter Angelia Ferrara, brothers Joseph of Crawfordville, FL, Lawrence of Millwood, sister Mona Kuceluk of Bayside, NY, nephews Dane, Cole & Hans, nieces Robin, Kim & Julie. There will be memorial visitation on Thurs. 2-4 & 7-9pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. CAMPOBASSO, PATRICK J.

Patrick J. Campobasso of Ossining died Feb. 17, 2012 at the NYS Veteran’s Home at Montrose, he was 100. He was born in West Newton, MA on July 15, 1911 to Dominick & Nicola Nicosia Campobasso. Patrick served in the US Army during WWI and was in three battles earning a Purple Heart. He was the owner of Pat’s Exxon in Irvington for many years. Patrick was pre-deceased by his wife Lena who died in 2007. He is survived by his daughter Marianne Falzone, grandchildren Peghi, Bill & Cyndi and 4 great grandchildren. Services were handled privately.

 

MARTIN, JOSEPH C. Sr.

Joseph C. Martin Sr. of Ossining died Feb. 8, 2012 in Ludington, MI, he was 83. He was born in Pennsylvania on Aug. 11, 1928. Joseph worked as a machinist for Metro-North Railroad in Croton many years and loved the sport of fishing. He was pre-deceased by his wife Rose. Joseph is survived by his son Joseph Jr. of Ossining, daughter Linda DeFilippis and her husband Wayne of Monroe , grandchildren Jennifer DeFilippis, Joseph Martin III, Michael Martin and many relatives. He will be reposing Sun. 2-5pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining, cremation private.

 

Haggerty, Victoria (D’Uva)

Vicky Haggerty of Ossining died Feb. 9, 2012, she was 91. She was born Oct. 18, 1920 in Sassinoro, Italy to Carmine & Annunziata “Nancy” D’Uva. Vicky graduated from OHS in 1938 and worked for John Hancock Life Ins. Co. for over 18 years. She married Joseph F. Haggerty Jr. on Apr. 20, 1947; he died Oct. 3, 2002. Vicky is survived by her son Peter, brothers Bart, Michael, Angelo, Joseph, sister Elizabeth King and many nieces & nephews. DiSISTO, ALBERINA

Alberina DiSisto of Ossining died Jan. 31, 2012, she was 86. She was born May 12, 1925 in Sassinoro, Italy to Marco Antonio Santucci & Beatrice Polzella. Alberina married Domenico DiSisto June 13, 1966 at St. Ann’s Church. She worked as a seamstress in Ossining many years. Alberina is survived by her husband Domenico, sister Italia Picucci and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be reposing Thurs. 2-4 & 7-9pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. MURO, AGNESE        

Agnese Muro of Cortlandt Manor died Jan. 30, 2012, she was 81. She was born Jan. 19, 1931 in Morcone, Italy to Pasquale & Giusepina Rosato. Agnese worked at an Estate in Purchase as a Horticulturist. She was pre-deceased by her husband Antonio. Agnese is survived by her sons Jorge, Daniel and wife Melanie, daughter Antonietta D’Addona and husband Americo, brother Nicola, sister Adelina, grandchildren Gabriel, Rose, Isabella, Stephanie & great-grandchildren Vincent & Giada. GIUSTI, FERDINANDO

Ferdinando Giusti of Ossining died Jan. 30, 2012, he was 89. He was born Aug. 20, 1922 in S. Vittorino, Italy to Luigi & Domenica Giusti. Ferdinando was a POW during WWII with the Allied Forces in Italy. He owned Giusti Mason Contractors in Ossining for many years. Ferdinando was a member of the Columbus Lodge , an avid bowler, bocce player and followed Italian soccer & Formula One racing. He is survived by his wife Rosa, sons Sandro & wife Marlene of Wappingers Falls, Ferdinando Jr. “Freddy” & wife Patttiann of Ossining, sisters Angelina Capulli & Natalina Giusti, both of Italy, grandchildren Danielle, Nicole, Jaqueline, Zachary, Christopher and 4 great-grandchildren. Ferdinando was pre-deceased by his son Luigi and brother Mario. He will be reposing Wed. 2-4 & 7-9pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. EVANS, GLADYS
Gladys Evans, formerly of Ossining, died peacefully in St. Simons, GA, she was 96. She was born Dec. 27, 1915 to Andrew & Gunhild Hogan. Gladys worked at Maryknoll for many years. She was an avid golfer and avid reader. While her children were young, she was a Girl Scout troop leader & Cub Scout leader. Gladys was pre-deceased by her husband Chester, a former Mayor of Ossining and daughter Carol Ann Scarduzio. She is survived by her sons Andrew of Croton, Chester and Bill, both of Naples, FL., sister Mildred Wago, 13 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren. GIORDANO, MARGARET BARBARA

Margaret Giordano of Ossining died January 21, 2012, she was 88 years old. She was born September 18, 1923 in Ossining to Stephano and Antoinette Biondi. Margaret married Celestine Steve Giordano in 1942 and was married for 69 years.  During World War II, while her husband Steve was in the Army in Germany, she worked as personal assistant to the Warden at Sing Sing Prison.  She was President of the Ossining Women’s Club, President of the Saint Augustine Alter Guild and a prominent member of the Ossining Historical Society.  Margaret is survived by her four sons; Stephen, Michael and his wife Rebecca, Anthony, Mark and his wife Debbie. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Her life revolved around her family; her greatest joy was the Annual Family Reunion where she celebrated life with her late husband and loving family; a tradition that will be carried on in her honor.  Margaret will be reposing Tuesday, 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, 10am at Saint Augustine Church at 381 North Highland Avenue, Ossining, with the burial at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

 

PATTERSON, GENEVA      

Rev. Geneva Patterson of Peekskill, formerly of Ossining died Jan. 18, 2012, she was 59. She was born Feb. 3, 1952 in NC to Major Jordan & Mary Etta Bynum. Geneva worked at the WCMC as a Supervisor in the Dietary Dept. for many years. She was an ordained minister serving most recently at the Christ Prayer Warriors Church. She is survived by her husband Robert, son Robert Jr., brother Randolph Jordan, sisters Louise Turner, Evelyn Gilchrest, Lucille Massaline, Mary Helen Hendricks & Alice Mae Dickerson. The wake will be Tues. 6-9pm at the Christ Prayer Warriors Church 200 N. Water St. Peekskill. The funeral service will be Wed. 11am at the Ossining Gospel Assembly 199 Croton Ave. Ossining, burial Dale Cemetery. 

 
 

OLIVIERI, EDNA

Edna Olivieri of Ossining died Jan. 18, 2012, she was 84. She was born Sept. 22, 1927 in NYC. Edna graduated from Washington Irving HS, class of ’45. She worked as a Legal Secretary for Eastern Airlines in NYC and later locally for several attorneys. She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church. Edna was pre-deceased by her son John. She is survived by her husband Frank, sons Frank Jr. & wife Pam, Anthony & wife Kathi, 6 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren. PIAZZA, BEVERLY

Beverly Piazza of Ossining died peacefully at home on Jan. 11, 2012, she was 81. She was born Dec. 23, 1930 in Queens, NY to James Robert Bulger & Gladys Coffin. Bev graduated from OHS in 1948 and served as a class officer. She married Paul Piazza on Oct. 22, 1950. Bev was a member of her beloved First Baptist Church having served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon & Church Historian. She was pre-deceased by her daughters Jody Lastowski & Beverly Piazza-Hudson. She is survived by her husband Paul “Moose” of Ossining, son Paul & wife Suzette of CT, daughter Christina of Ossining, son-in-law Michael Lastowski & grandchildren Katy Lastowski, Sara & Luke Piazza& Wesley Hudson. FEEKS, ALICE B.

Alice B. Feeks of Ossining died Dec. 28, 2011, she was 90. She was born June 5, 1921 in Norway to Bernhard & Anna Berntsen. During WWII, Alice worked at the Cambridge Instrument Co. in Ossining; then as a secretary for William H. Feeks Plumbing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Ossining Golden Agers. Alice was pre-deceased by her husband William & her son William Jr. She is survived by her daughters Carol Santaroni (Umberto) of Amawalk, June Brooks (Dan Kaye) of Oregon, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She will be reposing Mon. 2-4 & 6-8pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining where services will be held Tues. 11am, burial Dale Cemetery. HOLOHAN, MARILYN C.

Marilyn C. Holohan of Ossining died Dec. 20, 2011, she was 89. She was born June 19, 1922 in Ossining to Jesse A. Collyer & Rose Ostrum. Marilyn graduated from Ossining High School in 1940 and Barnard College in 1944. She was a homemaker having raised 8 children. She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church. She is survived by her husband Joseph, sons Joseph, Stephen, Peter, Michael, daughters, Kathleen Longobardo, Ellin Holohan (Dave Sheingold), Nancy Braughton (Thomas), Patricia Rogers (James) and 11 grandchildren.
